I started with personal care products when transitioning our home to less toxic items, and slowly made changes as products ran out. It is not logical or financially feasible to completely discard what you have and purchase new.

I feel like working one product at a time, one room at a time also allows you to learn why certain things, ingredients, are important and what it is about them that matters. Retaining this information is important for when you make future decisions. As you learn, it becomes easier to spot ingredients that maybe are less than ideal, but when in a pinch you can make the best decision with the options you have!

I am all about being realistic here- I know that better alternatives are more expensive than what most of us are used to which is partly what influenced the name of my page; Consciously Frugal. I am frugal where I can be in our life, so that we can make better conscious decisions in the name of our health.
